Wesak 2025

Celebrating the birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinibanna of our Lord Buddha. Join us both in-person and online this Wesak at any of our 7 locations or online via our live streams (only selected events will be live-streamed).

Wesak 2025 is now over. you can view various live streams, videos, reels and photos of Wesak 2025 related activities and events on all of our respective branches' social media and video sharing platforms.

One thing we can say for certain after the 2026 Malaysian Public Holidays list was released recently in November 2025 is that Wesak 2026 will be on Sunday, 31 May 2026.

What we do know for sure that is an annual tradition on Wesak Eve is that our Puchong branch, Ti-Ratana Lumbini Garden, will very likely have a Wesak Eve Float Procession on Saturday, 30th May 2026 in the evening and night around Bandar Puteri, Puchong for about 3 hours or so.

We can also say that due to practical reasons, it is possible that only the Puja sessions and Dhamma Talks will be live streamed on Wesak. We have found that live streaming a Wesak procession is only possible with the right weather conditions, as it is difficult to protect sensitve electronics from bad weather.

Many have asked our Media & IT team why we do not use our water resistant handphones. The reality is that we did try it on Kathina Day at our Puchong branch with multiple branches Media & IT team members' present and we found that not only would the phone overheat even in shaded areas regardless of morning or afternoon sun (let alone evening sun), but it would also transmit choppy video with no audio. We do not wish for people to experience such a beautiful moment with such an experience that can cause wise attention to turn into more distress than we already may be dealing with.

The Buddha taught the importance of the cessation of Dukkha, not the addition of Dukkha. So we'd encourage you to join us for the Wesak evening sun and future Kathina morning sun. Healthy sunlight in moderation is good for the mind too, as it is for the body. We will need to have a healthy body and healthy mind to use our mind, the forerunner of everything (Dhammapada 1:1, also Chief Reverend's favourite verse) to its utmost potential.

Remember though, this tentative date and time, and the stance on live streaming, like everything else, as the Dhamma teaches, is subject to change due to Anicca or impermanence.
